**Sensory Centre Garden Party Raises Four-Figure Sum**

The Forth Valley Sensory Centre recently held its annual summer garden party, raising over £1,000 to support vital services for those with sensory loss in the Forth Valley area. The event, which took place at the center’s Camelon hub, was a celebration of the organization’s work within the community, as well as an opportunity to raise funds for ongoing programs and support services.

**Community Support and Fundraising Efforts**

The charity’s garden party was a resounding success, with attendees participating in various fun activities such as a mini-golf course and a sponge splat game. Volunteers bravely took part in the festivities, including getting soaked in the sponge splat game, all in the name of raising funds for a good cause. In addition to the activities, there were stalls set up offering a range of items for sale, as well as a tombola to help generate additional funds for the charity.

**Partner Organizations and Support Services**

Several partner organizations were in attendance at the event, providing valuable information and resources to attendees. Organizations such as the Macular Society, Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership Sensory Services Team, Living Well Service, National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS), and the Braveheart Association had information stalls set up to engage with the community and raise awareness about their services. The event also featured delicious food and homemade mocktails, courtesy of Asda in Grangemouth, Stenhousemuir, and Falkirk, to keep attendees fed and refreshed throughout the day.

**Testimonials and Community Engagement**

Stephen Smith, a volunteer at the center who also utilizes its services, expressed his enjoyment of the event and the activities offered. “The event was well attended, and I was happy to come along. I really enjoyed the sponge splat game and seeing all the stalls. It was a great opportunity to speak to attendees and volunteers on the day,” said Smith. The sunny weather added to the enjoyment of the day, making it even more memorable for all involved.

Forth Valley Sensory Centre has been a pillar of support for individuals with sensory loss and their families for over 15 years. Rowan Ferguson, the community fundraiser, expressed gratitude for the success of the garden party, attributing it to the hard work of volunteers, staff, and generous donations. “Our goal was to raise £750 from this event, and we exceeded expectations with a total of £1,351.51. This event has been the best one yet, thanks to the dedication and effort put in by everyone involved,” stated Ferguson.

**Summer Hamper Raffle and Future Events**

In addition to the garden party, the center has launched its summer hamper raffle, featuring donations from center users and Caesar and Howie, Solicitors for Older People. Tickets for the raffle will be on sale at the center until August, with the draw for the winner taking place at the end of the month. Looking ahead, the center is gearing up for its annual Winter Fayre scheduled for Friday, November 29, promising another engaging and successful event for the community.

As the Forth Valley Sensory Centre continues to provide essential services and support to those with sensory loss in the Forth Valley region, events like the summer garden party play a crucial role in raising funds and awareness for the organization’s ongoing efforts. With the support of the community, partner organizations, and dedicated volunteers, the center remains a beacon of hope and assistance for those in need.
