TWO MEN have been apprehended for their involvement in a series of keyless car thefts spanning Stirling and other regions across Scotland. The duo managed to pilfer six vehicles between Friday, November 1, and Thursday, November 28, in locations like Wishaw, Uddingston, Bathgate, and Edinburgh.
The authorities took a 35-year-old individual into custody on Friday, December 6, in connection to the thefts, while a 36-year-old man faced charges on Saturday, December 21. After the reports of thefts surfaced, police launched extensive investigations, leading to the first suspect’s court appearance on Thursday, December 19. The second suspect is scheduled to appear in Hamilton Sheriff Court the following day, Monday, December 23.
Sergeant Steven Brown emphasized the importance of heightened vigilance among vehicle owners to combat such criminal activities. He advised against leaving keys or fobs near entry points like doors or windows. Additionally, he recommended purchasing secure signal blocking tools such as Faraday bags or RFID signal blockers to prevent unauthorized access to vehicles.
